At a glance, Caylee Klink is just another normal 6-year-old girl.
She’s a picky eater. One of her favorite combinations of food and drink is raviolis and chocolate milk. When asked what she likes to watch on TV, her response is brief as she says in a barely-audible mousy voice, “Frozen,” the animated box office hit from Disney.
But when Klink tries to run, she often struggles for air, usually only able to maintain a short burst of energy before being reduced to fits of wheezing coughs.
When she was only a few months old, Klink was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis (CF), a life-threatening, genetic disease that causes persistent lung infections and progressively limits the ability to breathe.
While most of her medical bills are usally paid for, travel and living expenses can be difficult to overcome for her family.
