Casey Cooper- beloved son, brother, friend... is dying of cancer.
After 18 months of hope and aggressive chemotherapy, medical treatment will now cease except for eventual hospice care.
Now is no time for despair... Casey is still here; still alive; still living!
Anyone who knows Casey Cooper knows how strongly he lives his life:
He challenges the mundane with creative curiosity.
He plays with social awkwardness to brighten and awaken stoic souls.
He humbly and quietly gives that which he can't afford, but you need.
Casey has endured a firestorm of difficulties with what must be a diminishing reservoir of grace. With a career as a graphic designer for the likes of Cisco and Sega, employment has now become untenable. He currently resides in subsidized housing in San Francisco, which includes challenges like an entryway full of derelicts and drug dealers and sharing a decrepit, indecently abused bathroom with the same. Aside from the physical pains due directly to chemo, it also prevents surgery to fix a hernia that causes him blinding pain daily. Worst of all, Casey's primary support group of lifelong friends and family are all but gone, living in different states across the U.S.
Time is preciously short! The moments we have left to share now include an infuriating countdown clock set at just 6 months away... or less. This is the purpose for this page and this is why we ask for your help: We are trying to help reunite Casey Cooper and his family in Florida:
To revel and rejoice in Casey's life for as long as his health allows;
To bring close the loving hands of his mother, Terri, so she can comfort and care for her little boy when his body no longer sustains.
ANY amount will help! We appreciate your support in whichever form you choose: helping this fund grow and/or contributing your love of heart. Perhaps we'll raise enough get to see the crossing off of an item or two from his bucket list, or maybe we'll just enjoy a nice lunch together one day when the sun is out and pain is manageable...
