Help Candice Practice Medicine!

Hello everyone, My name is Candice Hite. I want to thank you for taking the time to read my story, I am writing to you today because I’m asking for you to invest in me. This is not easy for me to do, I’m not asking for a charity handout but more as people investing in me so that my potential can be realized! I obtained my bachelors degree in biology from Northern Kentucky University in 2016. I have never been a stranger to hard work. I worked full time while in undergrad to support myself, and worked 2 jobs before PA school to save as much money as possible. In the summer of 2017 I was accepted into University of Kentucky and began my process of becoming Physician Assistant. That journey in itself came with a multitude of its own obstacles. But I never allowed the struggles that I was going through defer me from reaching my goal. In June 2019 I graduated with my Masters and after years of working hard to obtain the title of PA the success was one of the best feelings I’ve ever felt. But the joys were short lived and overshadowed by all the fees I’d have to pay before I could actually start practicing medicine. I had to pull funds together to pay $500 to take the national certifying exam (PANCE). Funds that I honestly didn’t have due to me moving across country for the job I had accepted. I passed the PANCE on 8/19/19! The only thing stopping me from starting my career is getting all the licenses required to practice medicine. The fee to apply for my medical license is $750, the fee to apply for my DEA license is $731, and the fee for my state pharmacy board is $500. All these were never announced throughout the journey of school, so to say I wasn’t prepared to pay them was an understatement. The thought of coming this far to not finish frightens me beyond explanation. I’ve conquered adversity after adversity and I’m so blessed to have made it this far. I’m praying that you guys find it in your hearts to help me cross the finish line!
