Buster Bluth Vidal-Huffman (AKA Sir Humps a Lot, Busta Rhymes, Meatball) is an adorable 9 month old English Bulldog mix. He was rescued along with 5 of his siblings from a backyard breeding situation. When we agreed to foster Buster, he was severely underweight and dehydrated, his paws were splayed and he didn't know life outside of a cage. After staying with for us for a week, and dispite adjusting quite well, Buster just did not seem quite right. We made an appointment with our vet and that's when we found out the news - Buster is a LEMON!

Buster has severe brachycephalic airway syndrome that impinges his breathing and causes him pulmonary edmea. He also has an umbilical hernia and hip dysplasia to boot. In order to prolong his life, he will require airway surgery with a specialist that will cost over $4,500. Although he's a very happy, well adjusted pup, we know his life would be much improved by being able to breathe better. Right now, he sleeps sitting up or proped up on pillows. He has sleep apnea and can only walk 1/2 a mile at a time but he's a little trooper and tries his best to keep up with other dogs. University of California at Davis has reveiwed his case and states he is a good candidate for the surgery. They would use a special technique called ligasure to open his airway.
So many people have reached out to us asking how they can help. Those who know me know I absolutely hate asking for anything but if you can spare a few bucks ('tis the season), it would go a long way trying to fix our Buster! We thank you in advance for caring about our Meatball!

*After a huge battle, the rescuer relinquished all rights to Buster and wanted to never hear from us again. The rescuer will have no part in helping pay for any of the surgical costs, so this is a self funded campaign.
