As I write this I am still in shock that this has happened.
Bunny is my corgi but she has been so much more to me than just my pet. She has been a loyal companion and has loved me during some of my toughest times. This all has spiraled down in the has few days and I am just now able to catch my breath.
I noticed a lump on her tummy Wednesday but she was her cheerful self and wasn’t in distress, I planned to take her to the vet as soon as I could to have it checked out. On Friday evening she was lethargic and feverish. So Saturday morning I went to the vet and was told she had a mass in her abdomen and testing was needed to know more.
Hours later I received a call that not only did she have a large mass connected to her spleen, but that it was leaking and affecting her other organs. Our options were that it would either need to be removed emergently or we would need to discuss euthanasia. Either way she could not come home and a decision needed to be made.
My fiancé, Chris and I decided that we had to give Bunny a chance to fight. So we depleted the funds for our wedding and scheduled the surgery. Honestly, we are so blessed to have had that fund otherwise I would not even be typing this right now. She had the surgery at 10:30 Saturday evening and came out of it at 11:30. I was told that we would know on Thursday if we are facing "The big C", Cancer.
The money we have been able to use has gotten us started on helping her but we are still so far behind and your support would be greatly appreciated. Your donation would go towards completely paying off the surgery and towards the follow-up appointments that are to be expected.
Bunny's presence in my life has gotten me through some major crisis and with your help; I can get her through her own time of crisis. Any support is greatly appreciated.
