My husband, Erik Maradiaga Alvarado, was recently detained by ICE without warning or legal justification, despite having no deportation orders or a warrant issued by a judge. This sudden and unjust action has left our family in a state of shock and uncertainty, as Erik is not only my partner but also the sole provider for our household. We have two sons, and one of them has a medical disability (Apert Syndrome), which makes this situation even more overwhelming. We are now facing a challenging road ahead as we fight for his release and try to keep our family together during this incredibly difficult time.
The funds raised through this campaign will go directly toward covering our rent, legal fees to secure Erik's release, essential living expenses, and other unexpected costs that have come up as a result of his detention. Without Erik's support, it has become nearly impossible to manage these financial burdens on my own, especially with the added care our son requires.
