Attention Friends and Family of Dave’s Last Resort and Igot’s Martiki Bar,
Throughout the years we have tried to help many people and organizations in need. This time we are asking for help to take care of one of our own:
On Saturday, May 30, our employee, Bobby Linebaugh (26) was in a horrible car accident. It resulted in him being trauma hawked to Delray Medical Center. After 10 days in ICU, Bobby has been removed from all life-saving treatment and physically is doing much better. Unfortunately, he has suffered significant traumatic brain injuries(TBI) with many skull fractures and too numerous to count facial fractures. This has resulted in severe brain shearings of the frontal lobe and severe aphasia. He also has vision issues due to the impact on the brain over his right eye. They can no longer help him in Delray and he was just transported to Memorial Rehabilitation Institute in Hollywood, Florida for inpatient rehabilitation. This rehabilitation facility is ranked in our nation’s Top 1% for brain trauma injuries and has had many successful cases.
Due to how severe Bobby’s injuries are he is not able to take care of himself. Bobby will remain living at this institute for an extended period of time while they try to rehabilitate his brain and communication functions. Most severe brain injuries take well over a year of rehabilitation to restore cognitive thinking and be able to complete our most basic daily functions. Unfortunately, his insurance was due for renewal on July 1 and the insurance company will only renew with exclusions due to accident. His insurance agent is scrambling now to find a policy that will cover these costs.
After Bobby is able to return home, he will live with his mother and stepfather, Maureen and Bill Cathcart. Since family involvement is crucial to his recovery, Maureen will have a difficult time returning to work. They will be his sole caregiver again. Also, they will have large legal fees due to the fact that they will need to seek guardianship through the courts because of Bobby’s age so that they can legally take care of him. Obviously, this hardship will be a huge financial burden on them.
Please help by donating any amount to help fray the costs! You may donate at GoFundMe.com and search Bobby Linebaugh’s Medical fund. All you need is a credit card. If you prefer, you may send a check payable to Maureen Cathcart C/O Dave’s Last Resort 18 South K Street #1, Lake Worth, Fl. 33460. Any donation is greatly appreciated.
Also, please keep them all in your daily thoughts and prayers!
