Support Bernie's Cancer Recovery

Ghoulish Greetings. Thank you for taking the time to come here and read this. We really appreciate it. I am making this GoFundMe for my best friend, producer, and all around good guy Bernie Eldred. He's helped me through the roughest of times, supplied me with countless pieces of gear and instruments to make my albums and music possible. We've collaborated on multiple things, and he usually makes an appearance on my solo albums, giving me creative input and much needed feedback.

I honestly don't know where or what I'd be if it wasn't for Bernie. He has helped with my solo Slasher Dave albums, Acid Witch, and all my movie scoring and other creative ventures. He's one of the brightest, most creative and caring individuals I've ever met. I've known him for 17 years (more than half my life) and my respect grows for him more and more everyday. Truly an amazing person, a role model, and someone that I've looked up to immensely ever since I first met him. He always believed in me, inspired, and pushed me to do what I love, even in times of doubt and depression. A true music and movie nut too!

Bernie's recent procedure to remove skin cancer in his face required the surgeon to remove 70% of his cheek tissue and muscle.

What was originally thought to be the size of a half dollar turned out to be pear sized. The procedure to reconstruct his cheek went as planned, until during recovery a hematoma formed and caused Bernie to go back into surgery. This complication caused the newly located skin to begin to die.

As Bernie works with his doctor through this healing process, he has been in a lot of pain and the amount of energy required by his body to heal has left him exhausted. What we thought would be a two week recovery now has no specific end date. Bernie's ability to return to work has been delayed. This is making it hard for him to continue to support his four children, Rachel, Robert, Grace and James, and his wife Kelly.

Bernie has received lots of love and support from friends and family, who have started this fundraiser to supply him and his family with the means they need to see Bernie through this difficult time and to a point of 100% healed.
