Help Bahati Run & Play Again
Please meet our gorgeous little girl, Bahati. This poor girl has had a very tough start to life before she was lucky enough to find rescue. (her name translates to 'luck'in Swahili) Born as an accidental litter, Bahati spent her whole life outside shivering through the cold nights of winter, covered in fleas and with a big wormy belly. Her whole litter were tiny skeletons with visible ribs and hip bones. SHARI saw these babies being given away and offered to take them on to help them find safe homes and ensure all their vet work was done.
When we arrived to collect the litter, the surrender shared with us that Bahati had been hit by a car - not a surprise considering the property was not fenced and based near a main road.
Whilst the whole litter ran out to greet the car, Bahati lay as a lifeless body in the dirt. She could barely lift her head and one of her legs was very swollen and floppy. The surrender lifted her up and she winced and screamed in pain, holding her with outstretched arms he asked us 'Do you still want her?'. Bahati was a good girl on our laps the whole ride to the vet, through the agony she must have been in, she managed a tiny tail wag.
The vets placed her on a drip for some pain relief and she was x-rayed immediately - this is where we discovered she had a shattered femur. She was also covered in minor scratches and had teeth chipped and missing from one side of her mouth.
Orthopaedic surgery to plate and repair Bahati's leg must go ahead but without assistance with funds, we struggle to provide the help Bahati needs. If you can spare any donation, big or small, we would so so appreciate your kindness and we know Bahati would too. It will be a long road to recovery due to the cruelty and neglect of her previous owners, but our sweet girl is so deserving of a second chance. Please help us provide her with one <3
