Help Malakai Fight Against His Critical Health Conditions

Hi my name is Melissa Nguyen the mother

of Malakai. January 15th, I gave birth to my son Malakai Legend Nguyen. He was born at 35 weeks at 9:45 A.M He is a premature baby, thank God he weighed 6lbs and 10oz. I had to get an emergency C section, I was 8CM when they popped my water, the amniotic fluid got into his lungs and he also had a bowel movement that also caused the infection in his lungs. Malakai is suffering with numerous health issues. Malakai has Persistent pulmonary hypertension of the newborn (PPHN) which is a serious condition that occurs when a newborn's blood vessels to the lungs don't open fully after birth. This prevents blood from flowing into the lungs to pick up oxygen, which can lead to a lack of oxygen in the brain and other organs. Malakai is also suffering with Meconium aspiration syndrome (MAS) is a breathing disorder that affects newborns who inhale meconium, a dark green fecal material, into their lungs before, during, or after birth. It occurs when a baby passes meconium into the amniotic fluid during labor or delivery. MAS can cause respiratory distress ranging from mild to life-threatening respiratory failure. Malakai also suffers with respiratory distress syndrome, and hypertension. He is in critical condition. A few days ago we had to go in for an immediate conference with the doctors. They informed us that he has a cyst in his liver a size of a golf ball. Doctor L. Liegh one of the doctors that is helping Malakai informed us in his 31 years of working with babies Malakai is the sickest baby he has ever seen. We are asking for prayers and donations to help them stabilize his condition. We were not prepared for this pregnancy and wasn’t prepared for him to be in severe and critical condition. As of right now we are hoping he makes a full recovery as all parents would wish for their child. We don’t have much prepared for his return home, such as clothes, bottles, blankets, pampers, etc. While he remains in the NICU we are trying to prepare and raise funds to get him everything he needs for when he comes home. We are accepting any donations. But with his condition we also have to consider that he might not make it and have to prepare for funeral expenses just incase that he doesn’t make it due to his conditions. The doctors and nurses are doing everything in their power to help Malakai recover We have no idea how long we will be there. We are praying for a miracle to happen. We are grateful for ANY and ALL contributions, no matter how big or small anything will help. We were keeping it private during this hard time for the past week, but with everything going on we thought it would be best to bring awareness and ask for help because we are seriously in need of all the help we can get, prayers, financial help and any type of contributions. During this hard time, I find it super weird and strange and very disrespectful how some people that I made the go fund me lying about my son’s health condition. I am very grateful for any, and everybody who has donated contributed and shared Malakai’s story and has prayed and send positive thoughts. I have no reason to lie or make up anything about my son’s health conditions. What do you see on the whiteboard is just some of the things that he is suffering with not even all of his health issues. What you see on the whiteboard is what the doctor wrote when we first came in where he was breaking down all of what he was suffering from informing us and educating us on all these medical terms and conditions that we never heard of. We didn’t know about the cyst on his liver until last week. I know I don’t have to explain or prove myself to anyone but I just want to let it be known that Malakai is suffering and is in critical conditions and I don’t need no negative energy or no one talking about a sick innocent child. There’s a lot of stuff that I don’t speak on but I just had to put these out there to let it be known. These are just some of the medical issues that he suffers from I just wanted to inform you all that everything that I’ve been saying has been nothing but the truth in that I would never lie about my son’s health conditions. With the cyst on his liver, I haven’t had receive the MRI and ultrasound of cysts on his liver but as soon as I do, I will post it up to keep you all informed. And also for those who think that I have made this go fund me for myself or made up this story, I would never lie on any of my kids especially lie about any medical condition? For the ones who was has false accusations on me, you are in the wrong and I find it super disrespectful for you to ever think that I would do that with my son‘s condition. The proof is right there. I haven’t even linked my bank account to the GoFundMe. I haven’t touched a penny because every dollar will be worth my son so it’s ashamed of those of you who would ever think that what type of person do you take me for for the people that know me know that I would never do that ever especially in regarding too my children.
