I'm Annie, 19 years of age and currently living in Northeast Louisiana. I currently live with my mom and my brother in a run-down trailer home, and I have aspirations to get out of this hell and make something of myself.

I want to get my GED, and I want to find a stable career in which I can lift myself up in. For that to happen, I first need stable living—something I won't find here.

Why?

Louisiana is one of the poorest states in the U.S.A, 18.9% of LA population is within or under poverty by 2023 Census. Some of us are within poverty even with the ability to work, something I can't do; I have no vehicle, no reliable friends or family with vehicles, and our area has no public transport with a lack of safe bicycle and walkable infrastructure.

I am also visibly queer which only serves to endanger me in the deep south, and my family are under constant eviction threats by those we live with since we can't reliably make money.

This all isn't said to paint a sob story or to guilt anyone, but instead serve as a frame of reference on why I've turned to fundraising for help.

What the funding will go towards;

Any extra will go into savings, I do not plan to use any of this for frivolous spending or anything but emergency and requirement. The goal is to get to the point where I can support that myself.
