Amy Meyer is a loving single mother living in Mystic, CT with her three children. She is well-known and loved in her community, by her regulars at the Seahorse in Noank, the Mystic Boathouse, or by students at Ledyard High School where she works full-time as an administrative assistant.

In March of this year she was diagnosed with a form of cancer called Multiple Myeloma. Though the cancer is not curable it is very treatable, meaning Amy will likely live a long life with proper management of the disease. However, it has caused her weakness, fatigue, and pain which have all forced her to give up hours at the restaurants she works in. She is covered by health insurance from her job at the high school, but the high medical bills leave her with a lot to pay. Add to this the expenses and stress of raising three children, one of whom will be going to college next year, and you will understand that Amy needs the help she can get.

Additionally, she will have to undergo a stem cell transplant and an intense round of chemo in September to fully knock her cancer into remission. She will be unable to work for at least six weeks and the procedure itself will be incredibly expensive. Her mother has been helping and supporting her along the way, but she herself is formally retired and only works part time.

Amy is a wonderful, gracious, and generous woman, and anyone who knows her will attest that she's amazing. She deserves any love and help that anyone is willing to send her way.
