Help & Support For The Migliozzi Family

What Happened:
On November 14, 2020 the Migliozzi family had a huge accident happen that would drastically impact and change the lives of Mig, Rae & Allie for a very long time.
Mig was in the backyard and in the process of cutting down a large tree. He was high up on a ladder when the ladder started to sway and fall. Mig didn’t want to fall with the ladder so he started to climb down a few steps as quick as he could but had to make the choice to jump 6 feet to the ground to avoid falling over with the ladder from a very high height. When he landed on the ground with both feet, the impact of the jump and fall completely shattered his leg. He has a very severe break in his left leg called a tibial plateau fracture. Basically, it is a break of the larger lower leg bone, below the knee, that actually breaks into knee joint itself. The break also includes all of the ligaments, muscles, tendons, meniscus & skin around the knee; as well as the bones. It is a very serious and complicated break that has extensive healing time and can have long term damage, including possible future surgeries.
Mig had his first of two surgeries on Saturday night (11/14/20) right after the accident happened. He will have a second surgery in the next week or so once the swelling subsides and it is safe to operate again. Mig’s doctor told Rae after his first surgery that his break was one of the worst he’s ever seen of this particular injury. He has a stabilizing device on his leg with 2 huge pins in his lower leg bone and two huge pins in his thigh bone. He is currently still hospitalized and on complete bed rest.
How You Can Help:
Mig is the sole financial provider for him and his girls. Rae is currently 22 weeks pregnant with their second daughter, Amelia, and it is an extremely high risk pregnancy. She has already been hospitalized and diagnosed with early on set preeclampsia. Her high risk pregnancy means that she cannot work to help make ends meet during this time and she also cannot physically lift or help with things that Mig would typically do around the house for his family. Rae is not only going through a high risk pregnancy but she is also the sole caretaker for both Allie and Mig during this time.
As most of you are aware, Mig works in the racing industry. A huge portion of his income is based upon his pit crew money that he receives for being a gas man on the Xfinity car for Stewart Haas Racing. This injury puts Mig on the sidelines and will not allow him to do his pit crew job for awhile (timing is uncertain at this moment until they know more after surgery #2). Mig has also had to start the process of being placed on short term disability, as he is currently not able to work at all. Short term disability only pays 60% of his regular salary. With Covid pay cuts + his pit crew money being cut + the short term disability cutting what he has left by 40% + Rae’s high risk pregnancy (not being able to work & possibly being put on complete bed rest in the months to come) this means that the Migliozzi family is facing extremely difficult financial hard times. This puts a huge burden on Mig & Rae. Both of them are very proud and independent and neither one of them wants to ask for help. However, between Mig’s serious injury and Rae’s serious high risk pregnant, this means they are in a very hard financial situation.
We are trying to raise as much possible support for the Migliozzi’s as they face a very long road ahead of them. We want to help raise money so they can make ends meet, pay their bills take care of sweet Allie and get baby Amelia here safely; but also be able to take care of both of themselves and heal like they need to without the massive financial burden that is heavily weighing on both of them. By giving and supporting this family, you are making this tremendously difficult time a little easier on them. By having financial support, they will be able to rest a little bit easier, focus on healing and their family without the financial burden weighing so heavy on the two of them. Anything you are able to give to their family will be such a huge help. They help others so much, now it’s our turn to give back to them. Thank you all so much!

I have also attached their baby registry found below if you would like to support in that way.
