Amber Folland’s journey to becoming a mother has been a long one, almost a decade in the making. She’s overcome fertility issues, a divorce, and the death of a great love, and believed that motherhood was going to pass her by. Then almost three weeks ago, a family friend’s daughter and her boyfriend offered Amber the gift of a lifetime—a beautiful three month old baby girl.
The baby arrived in Portland over Labor Day weekend after giving Amber less than two weeks to prepare financially, physically, and emotionally. Now Amber is now caring for her while she completes a homestudy and finalizes the adoption. Because everything happened so suddenly, she wasn't prepared financially for the legal fees that are needed to finalize the adoption. Because of her recent relocation for a better job opportunity, she wasn't able to rebuild her savings to meet this expense in time.
That's why we are setting up this GoFundMe page for her, so that the adoption can be completed as soon as possible for the comfort and closure for all involved. We want Amber to enjoy time with her new daughter rather than worrying about the legal expenses it will take to make Olivia officially hers. Thank you for reading her story, and please share it with as many people as you can!
