Alex had emergency back surgery and needs help

Two weeks ago Alex collapsed walking to her car and was taken to the hospital. Unable to move her right leg, she required emergency back surgery which revealed a bulged disc, and a large mass attached to several of her leg muscles. She spent 8 days in the hospital and was unable to walk. After surgery they released her with a walker, and she will require months of physical therapy to hopefully regain full use of her right leg. 

We are hoping you can pitch in and help. We were unsure of what kind of goal to set, but did our best considering medical bills, transportation, in-home care, physical therapy and being unable to work. Any support is greatly appreciated.

Many know Alex from her sarcastic Venice based police scanner twitter account or from her kitten rescue. Already living with Multiple Sclerosis, she supports herself as a photographer and is too stubborn to ask for help herself. We are hoping she won't need another surgery to regain full use of her leg...if you can pitch in to help our friend, any amount is appreciated!

Her "ride or die" boyfriend JR (John Ray) is taking amazing care of her, and doing his best to keep her from doing things she shouldn't. He currently has her set up downstairs to temper her ambitions.  Her second surgery to fix her back is coming up on August 21st. Thank you!
