Help Akos Beat Breast Cancer

Akosua Spigner is more than a women, she is the definition of a phenomenal woman . She’s been our biggest cheerleader and the champion of many needing help whether financially, emotionally, or otherwise. Even while being a devoted mother she took real pride in her work as a pharmacist from 1998 to 2013 at the Medicne Shoppe in Glen Rock, NJ by providing intimate care, and creating a pleasent environment for those who were otherwise stuggling. Our Mothers beautiful spirit, fierce love for her kids, positive attitude, fervent love of life, and faith impacted everyone who she came into contact with.
Our phenomenal woman is now battling Stage 3 breast cancer. And while she is a fierce fighter the overwhelming amount of money she owes is preventing her from being able to continue with the care that she needs.
Please help us save our phenomenal woman. Contributions in the form of love, prayers, and donations to assist with her medical bills would mean the world to our mother but especially to the people who love her dearly.

AKOS’S STORY:
To most the diagnosis of stage 3 breast cancer alone would be devastating enough. This however was only the beginning of a serious roller coaster of challenges for our family.
Our mom has supported herself and her 4 kids for the past 19 years. Due to illness, she was forced to sell her pharmacy. Since her diagnosis of stage 3 breast cancer in May of 2015, she has been experiencing a roller coaster of emotions and stresses. Being the strong woman that she is, she continued to work through the first 3 months of chemo to support herself and her 17 year old son (a senior in high school), but soon the side effects took their toll and rendered her unable to work. Soon after becoming unemployed, her daughter was diagnosed as Bipolar II and was forced to return home on medical leave. Just a month after that her 2nd daughter, a junior at Steven's College, was forced to take a leave from school due to lack of finances. Now with 3 of her kids at home and no financial support, we are asking for help.
To make matters worse, she is currently in the middle of a horribly messy and drawn out divorce. The most jarring issue there is that our father's insurance has been refusing to cover her medical bills. It was recently brought to our attention that they have only been paying between 5%-8% of the bills!
She has already gone through chemo and had a mastectomy. A pathology report has determined that 5 of 8 lymph nodes are still cancer positive. Her doctors have deemed it medically necessary for her to go through 11 weeks of daily radiation. Until some of her medical bills are paid down, the hospital is refusing to even do her consult for the radiation therapy.
Our extended family has been going above and beyond to support and care for our mom through love, emotional/physical support, and finances. However, the staggering sum of medical bills has reached over $750,000 and is just too much for us all to tackle on our own.
We are asking for donations of love so that our mom can finish her treatment plan and kick cancer’s ass once and for all! Any donation big or small will help this single mom get back to the healthy life she truly deserves. We appreciate your support and prayers.
