Funds for Agnes' hysterectomy
Donation protected
Meet my bestfriend, Agnes Sabonsolin or "Ae", as most of our friends like to call her.

Ae is a 36-year old, hardworking, animal-loving, marine biologist who lives in Cebu City, Philippines. She is mother to a beautiful and rambunctious boy, Nuno, and wife to Jojo, an equally hard-working dog trainer who has recently left for Nevada to find work.

Shortly after Ae gave birth to her son, she was diagnosed with endometriosis, a chronic and painful disease caused by the growth of the uterine tissue to other parts of a woman's reproductive organs. A rare complication of endometriosis is when the uterine tissue develops as cysts/masses in the cervix--in Ae's case, her cervical masses have grown to the point where hormone therapy has become ineffective and the best course of action for her now is to completely remove her uterus, cervix, fallopian tubes and ovaries--a total hysterectomy with bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy.
Unlike in the United States, healthcare payments in the Philippines are usually made up-front or through payment plans that will only be approved following a large deposit. While Ae has already shelled out a large chunk of hers and Jojo's savings to pay for her doctor's visits, diagnostic imaging and biopsies to rule out cervical cancer, in October 7, Ae will need to come up with $3,200 for her hysterectomy procedure. I started this fundraiser in the hopes to help offset Ae's surgical cost and other various medical bills that may arise.

Ae has always been passionate to causes that are close to her heart and always does everything she can to help someone in need even if there are days when she has little left to give. I'm hoping that now, in her moment of need, we can also be there for her.
