Yo guys,
I really hate asking for help. I really do. But it’s become the time in my life where my bills are kicking my ass and my physical health is dwindling. I was diagnosed with stomach cancer about a year ago, I’ve been fighting and been trying my best to get back in my groove again. While officially my counts have been good, I’ve been in and out of ERs for stomach bleeding, which means they have to stick a tube through my nose and take out the excess blood in my stomach with a pump. It’s pretty shitty, and makes me vomit while this is going on.
My jobs have suffered. I currently work part time at a film lab, but haven’t really been able to pick up as many shifts as I would like due to my health getting in the way. The rest of my jobs are also part time and freelance, which makes it difficult to have a stable income when you’re sick. Both my mental and physical health have suffered. Luckily my team at Larkin Hospital has been taking good care of me.
Thankfully, I’ve had to pay minimal out of pocket costs medically. I don’t have a car, but I’m lucky enough to have a sister who lets me borrow hers when I need to travel for work.
