URGENT - HELP SUE FIGHT CANCER
Donation protected
Hi All:
My name is Sue Wood.
I have Stage IV Breast cancer that has spread to the bones. I also have kidney disease.
I'm back in my hometown of Lincoln, Nebraska - after having been away for over 35 years. I have been an international aid worker and an artist in my career ... not a big money maker ... and it certainly didn't prepare me for the enormous medical bills I am facing now.
I am in desperate need of kidney surgery. It is scheduled for March 29th, but I won't be able to get it without paying for it. Also I want to continue my chemotherapy treatments. If I can stay on a good course of treatment I can buy 3 or 4 more years of life -- and I WANT TO LIVE.
I take an oral immunotherapy treatment called IBRANCE. It costs $12,000. for a 21- day supply. I have run through my entire life savings to pay for this. Unfortunately I could not keep up with the health insurance payments and therefore I was 'termed' out last week. Blu Cross and Blue Shield will no reinstate me and the Obamacare marketplace is open enrollment doesn't start up again until next year.
If I don't get treatment I won't live until next year.
To add insult to injury, the State of Nebraska is offering no assistance - so I am in a life or death situation.
I'm a very responsible person. I've spent my entire life working on pverty alleviation projects around the world and serving the poorest of the poor. I never thought I would find myself in this situation. I've never asked for this kind of help before, but this is my third time with cancer in the last 15 years, and the collective experience has been a financial disaster for me. I have gone through my life's savings and depleted my 401 K to pay for everything ... so I really need help.
In spite of this, I'm in good spirits and I believe I can get this cancer under control and stay active and productive for several more years if I can get some help. I want to give back to my community. I want to pay it forward - but I need your help.
I know you all work hard for your money, so again, my apologies for having to ask, but if you could consider making a contribution to my medical fund it would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance for anything you can offer.
Love to all,
~Sue Wood
