Help Steve Bradley Kick Cancer To The Curb ... AGAIN!!
Donation protected
In January 2019, Steve Bradley was diagnosed with Hairy Cell Leukemia (HCL), a rare, slow-growing bone marrow cancer. After several difficult months of treatment, Steve was fortunate to receive good news. The cancer was gone! Relapse only occurs in 5-9% of HCL, so the Bradleys had every reason to be hopeful that cancer was in their rearview.
Unfortunately, in August 2024, after feeling increasingly fatigued, Steve and Kate went to see the oncologist. The HCL is back. Treatment began in early September.
Steve is receiving chemo Monday through Friday at the Rocky Mountain Cancer Center. His next two rounds of treatment will include weekly infusions of monoclonal antibodies, for a total of 8 weeks, starting in October 2024.
UPDATE: September 19, 2024. Steve has been admitted to the hospital with a fever and severely low neutrophil count. They will keep him in the hospital until his neutrophil count is above .5. It is currently .16, trending down from last night's .21.
UPDATE 9/23/2024.
Steve’s labs looked good on Saturday (no longer critically low anyway) and as a result he begged to go home for a more comfortable bed, less scratchy sheets and better food. And they let him. He felt good the rest of Saturday and started to feel terrible again yesterday (Sunday). Today he has been sick to his stomach and he is having rigors (uncontrollable shaking). Fever at 101.8 currently. The rash is just relentless. We are back at the ED now and they will be admitting him again.
The kids, Jake-15, Kallum-8, and Ryann-6, are very worried about their dad. This is a very frightening and uncertain time for everyone. Of course, we all wish good things for this beautiful family, but they could really use financial support right now!
