Friday, May 8th: Our little Pyg was rushed to the Emergency hospital at 6am today. He has two obstructions in his stomach and one in his small
Intestines. He is going to have emergency surgery right now. They thought he had passed everything on Monday night and he started going downhill again the last couple of days. He spent Sunday and Monday at the hospital, he returned on Wednesday, and is now undergoing surgery today. The total for his care so far is more than $6,000 so any support you can donate we deeply appreciate. We couldn't imagine him not making it to his 2nd birthday this upcoming Tuesday, May 12th.
Monday, May 4th: Our baby Pyg woke up yesterday as a happy healthy puppy. Then, at around 1pm he started vomiting. All night he was up vomiting (at least 12 times) and we have never seen him so sad. He spent the night in various rooms of our house, hiding and wanting to be alone.
The short of it is, after spending 5 hours at the vet and after hours of various treatments and tests, we've learned that he has a foreign body stuck in his intestines. It's causing anything he ingests to come back up.
Total cost so far between all of the treatment and diagnosing that it took to get us to this point, the xrays, bloodwork, medications, ultrasounds, and surgery is somewhere between $4000 and $5000.
He's a 2-year old and otherwise healthy and energestic Boston Terrier. We have had him since he was 4 months old. We could not bear the thought of of just taking him home and doing nothing, so we are taking any/all measures to keep him alive!
I am hoping that the generosity of strangers can help us shoulder the costs of his life saving surgery. This has been a really rough year for our family (I was also hospitalized for a total of 3 weeks this year for emergency spinal surgery & kidney failure).
Assuming and hoping no more complications, we are going to be about $5000 in the hole on this - any little bit would help and be eternally appreciated.
His big and little sister want to see him come home ASAP!
