Our little Liam was born with a severe cephalohematoma, low blood sugars and low blood pressure. They did several ultrasounds because he had large bruises all over his body and they feared it was internal bleeding. He was almost healed up at Washington Hospital's NICE (like an ICU for newborns) but he had to be transferred to UCSF because he also had polyp on his vocal cords that was blocking 75% of his airway and would prevent him from breathing while crying. They also found a spot on his thalamus that required an MRI and it was found to be scarring and that will need rechecked in a few months.

We've been staying at a hotel nearby because we'really at the hospital 18 hours a day by his side and need to be able to get here quickly in the middle of the night. He's now 13 days old and has been in NICU since birth. Liams been subject to so many tests, specialists, blood tests and even had a spinal tap. He's now developed a staph infection from the hospital and will need to stay even longer. We tried doing this on our own but we need help now. Money donated will be used to help pay for our boarding (we're not staying in the city to help limit costs but still stay 10 minutes away) and for his extensive medical bills.
