Help Flood Victim Restore Home
I am the aunt of a familiy who has lost their home in the recent Covington, La. flood on March 11, 2016. Their home flooded because of large amounts of rain which overflowed into the surrounding rivers and quickly filled up and flooded the surrounding neighborhoods. Instead of saving their personal belongings, the homeowner worked to help a neighbor save his miniature horse from drowning. The homeowner had enough time to rescue their dog before the National Guard arrived to save them them from their flooded home. They lost numerous necessities in their house, many appliances, furniture, toys, household items, and clothes. The money raised will be used to help them renovate their home and make it livable again. Currently they are staying with a family 30 minutes away because their closest family members (their grandparents) were similarly impacted by the flood. Local churches have been helpful in making sure they have food, clothing, and clean up supplies. While this helps immensely, the biggest costs are soon to come as they begin renovating their home. Your contribution, no matter how big or small, will be greatly appreciated to help this family in a time of need. Please consider contributing any amount you can afford.
For those who can contribute - I cannot tell you how thankful I would be. You will be helping a wonderful family and two young children return to their home.
Sincerely,
Aunt Jenny
