Help Kiki Heal!!

Donation protected
This is our friend Kiki.

Many of you have known Kiki for many years, either from her jobs at: The Golden Bull (Santa Monica), Cafe Buna (MDR) and HOT in Venice or from her native home Germany.

Five years ago Kiki had a terrible motorcycle accident. A driver, speeding through a yellow light at night, made a left turn, did not see Kiki in the intersection and struck her. She broke both her legs, both arms, her pelvis, her hip, her ribs, and she incurred numerous internal injuries.

After 20+ surgeries and years of physical therapy Kiki has made an incredible recovery.

Her upbeat, positive attitude, diligent commitment to her ongoing rehab-programs and her devotion to do whatever is necessary to heal  her damaged body has given Kiki significant recovery, but only so far. Yes, she is now working again. In fact, she is working three jobs to keep up with regular living expenses as well as the ongoing health care costs. But the journey of her recovery is far from over.

Even though Kiki has health insurance, there have been numerous "out-of-pocket" costs for co-payments and the other things that health insurance doesn't cover.

Her remaining major injury is in her lower abdomen/pelvic floor which resulted from a fracture of her pelvis. This is an extremely difficult repair. Several in-network procedures have not been successful.

Going outside of her insurance network she attempted stem cell repair. Three procedures that sadly did not improve her condition.

Her continuing research has led her to Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore. Here, the James Buchanan Brady Urological Institute specializes in all things Urologic and has extensive experience with trauma patients.

Kiki set up an appointment and flew to Baltimore. The visit was positive and gave her new hope. The head doctor there is confident that they will be able to help her with her injury and give her back the quality of life she deserves - something that's been having a real impact as only a few of you really know.

Since this is a completely out of network procedure, Kiki will have to cover the costs for this surgery entirely on her own.

This is why we are asking for your help.

PLEASE HELP KIKI GET BACK TO A NORMAL LIFE!!

Your donation will help:
- Finance the surgery.
- Cover the expenses of hospital/hotel stay during the procedure in Baltimore.
- Provide for the roundtrip airfaire.
- Help with some living expenses for the recovery time after the surgery.

Your donations, large or small, would be greatly appreciated and will ease Kiki's financial burden on her quest to get well again.

Thank you to everyone and please share this page and spread the word!

Again, thank you!!
