As most of you know I spent the las 10 years as a caregiver to my husband, Bart Trotter. We were fighting his battle with ALS {Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis}. October of last year I was taken sick and after a stay in the hospital I was diagnosed with possible Breast Cancer.

On March 22, 2025, I was officially diagnosed with Breast Cancer! Of course, I was terrified to hear this diagnosis and what I might be facing. With both Bart and I needing help we took Bart home to New Mexico to an assisted living center. Here, he could get individual help that I could no longer give him. My son, Heath Gregg, took me to his home in Houston to get an official diagnosis and treatment. Obviously, this solution was difficult for everyone but at the time it was the only thing that worked. Not only did it require Bart and I to be separated but we lost a majority of our things in our rent house.

As difficult as all of this was it cannot compare to the financial hardship that we would find ourselves in over the next few months. The ALS diagnosis that we lived with had already taken all of our savings, our retirement and anything we had of value. So now to add a Breast Cancer diagnosis on top of this has made our financial obligations that we now faced seemingly impossible. We are fortunate that Bart's disability does cover the monthly cost of the assisted living center and a few smaller bills.

My Breast Cancer diagnosis has made our financial situation so extremely difficult. At this time, I do not quality for any kind of disability. I am continuing to fight the denials and hopefully I will eventually start receiving some. I was able to start receiving the basic Medicare just after I was diagnosed. However, this has not even begun to cover my medical costs. For the past year I have had to depend on Heath to care for me. We are at the point where I am in desperate need of some help for all my expenses.

It is deeply humbling to have to ask for any kind of help but at this point I do not have any other option. If you can see any way possible to send any donation to help, I will be truly grateful to you. And please I can use all the prayers that you all can find it in your heart to send my way.

i must admit I didn't think I could be shocked by anything else I would have to face after Bart's diagnosis.

And yet having to face this Breast Cancer diagnosis as certainly completely knocked me off my feet. But I do know that my God is in control and I I can handle anything as long as I give it to Him.
