Study Abroad in Guatemala

My name is Ariel Batiste. I am currently a freshman at the University of Southern California. I have recently been accepted to a study abroad program called Problems Without Passports that will be going to Quetzaltenango, Guatemala this summer. The program is aimed at pre-health students that wish to explore health care and issues in other countries.

I am super excited to be spending three weeks in Guatemala, but the price of the trip has proven to be quite the obstacle. The total cost of the trip is $6,200. The cost includes the price of USC tuition for 3 credits, travel, housing, and food for three weeks.

I have always had a passion for helping those without a voice and truly understanding their struggles and plight. I want to go to Guatemala and act upon this passion. There are not many opportunities for me to be able to do something like this, so I really want to take advantage of the resources I have been given. The class will not only be beneficial to my degree and academic future, but to my personal growth as well. I will deepy appreciate any help that I can get!
