Pastor John and First Lady Emma Moore's house was destroyed in the flood. Pastor of Pacific Temple C.O.G.I.C., he and his family lost almost EVERYTHING. From major appliances, yard equipment, tools, furniture, clothing, and other personal items. The floors have softened, bathtub and sinks have loosened from the walls and floors. After the flood, they found out their house insurance will not cover anything and the flood issurance doesn't cover any of the contents of their home.
Emma has lived in Pacific all her life and John most of his. They are pillars in the community, in St. Louis and surrounding areas. Currently, they are raising their two great-granddaughters, assisting their grandson who is suffers from a nureological disorder and housing other family. This has been absolutely devastating!
These two dear hearts have been generous to so many in just about every way imaginable but have been struck by serious tragedies over the last 7 years including the loss of two of their daughters (Regina "Kay" Savage and Rosalind "Roz" Jordan, mother Moore loss her last two siblings (within the last few years), they have experienced health challenges and have been flooded out 2 times. Their faith and the hand of GOD has brought them through.
I attended the Moore's church for several years, and during that time and since, I have seen anytime anyone needed them or asked for help, they would do all they could to be there. Now, we the family, brothers and sisters in Christ and the community can be the answer to their prayers. Although it cannot replace the years of family memorabilia/antiques, we can help them recover from this disaterous flood.

They have lived in this location for their 54 years of marriage and raised their children, grandchildren and now raising their great-grandchildren in this home, Pastor Moore rebuilt the home after a fire in the early 70's. Although this home holds many memories, ultimately, I and many ohters would love to see enough money raised that they can buy a home out of the flood plain. They have gone trough four major floods and now are up in years, it's not as easy for Pastor Moore (a retired construction worker), who is challenged with health and age related issues, to rebuild.

Mother Moore has taken care of the elderly and they've opened their home to those needing shelter or a meal. Ask and people will tell you, there are not two nicer people. Even as I was sitting with them in their small motel room, Pastor Moore was calling someone who is house-ridden to see if he could bring him something to eat. That would be a nice gesture until I learned the individual lives 40 miles away and he makes this trip several times a week. AN INCREDIBLE HEART OF COMPASSION!

It is my prayer that GOD will move upon us to give generously to these two people who have tirelessly given and continue to give of themselves for others. This fund will be used to pay for their temporary/transitional shelter cost, purchasing appliances, furniture, housewares, clothing, personal care items, and whatever is needed for the house. It would be GREAT if we could raise enough money to relocate them, so they would not have to live with the fear or threat of surviving another flood. ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE!!!
Thank you in advance and may God bless you for YOUR heart of compassion.
