Joyce Rosser Stroke Rehab Fund
Donation protected
My name is Heather. Joyce Rosser is my friend and my sister-in-law; she's been married to my brother James for over 20 years. They are the proud parents of 2 beautiful teenage daughers, Hannah and Abigail. They're hardworking awesome parents, who have kept faith and family first, and have always planned for the next step in life.
Joyce suffered a severe hemorrhagic stroke on August 10th. Joyce is only 54. They didn't plan for that.
Joyce spent a week in ICU as we waited for her condition to stabilize to make sure the bleeding stopped and the blood clot wouldn't dislodge. We were grateful and excited when she was moved to a rehabilitation facility last week, however, the road ahead will be long and expensive.
If you've never seen the effects of a severe stroke, it's overwhelming - on one hand you're ecstatic they survived (because it was very close), and you're grateful for every function they recover, however, you have to get accustomed to a new reality. James and the girls will have to adjust to a new normal. We honestly don't know when or even if Joyce will get to return to work.
Joyce & James chose a modest life outside of the "city" so they could raise their girls. They rely on both incomes to make ends meet - Joyce doesn't have short term disability and was out of PTO (thank God for her awesome co-workers who donated PTO days to help and her employer for supporting the initiative!).
At a time when he just wants to be there for his wife and daughters, James has been working double-shifts since her stroke to make sure they can pay their bills and make a dent in the increasing medical expenses. In between shifts, he's trying to manage the homefront and be both mom & dad while Joyce recovers.
Anyone who knows my brother will be surprised that he was agreeable to this campaign, which only validates the severity of the situation. Our goal with this campaign is to take off some of the financial burden of them dropping to a single income, as medical expenses increase until they figure out what the future holds - without James having to work 80 hours a week.
No amount is too small - please know every penny will be appreciated and will not be used frivolously (if you know my brother you would laugh at the thought of frivolous spending!).
Above all else, Joyce, James and the girls need your prayers - we BELIEVE. Keep em coming!
On behalf of the family (Joyce's sister Linda, my sisters Beth and Justine, and our dad Jim) we thank you in advance for any Donation, Prayer, and Share.

Behind the family is the love story.....
Jamie and Joyce truly fell in love at first sight. He met her while visiting Texas from Cali, and immediately moved back to Texas. For her. Back in the day they loved to gross me out by calling each other "babycakes" and hugging & kissing ALL THE TIME (I'm the baby sister...). Then they would tell the story of their first date like it was the first time they told you - he thought she asked for a Rose margarita and spent 20 minutes at the bar, but she had just said frozen margarita :)

Still crazy in love after all these years ;)
