Save Captain's Knees!
Donation protected
Captain is an American Staffordshire Terrier living in Portland, OR. She was a rescue pup from AZK9 Rescue in Phoenix, AZ in 2013. Captain overcame a fight with Parvo as a puppy and was soon adopted into a loving home. She’s my special, happy, affectionate and goofy partner who has positively affected the lives of many. She's my first dog on my own, she's been by my side throughout good times and bad. I love her more than anything.

Since she was young, Captain has shown signs of patellar luxation, dislocation of the kneecap. This has hindered her throughout her life, but she’s a resilient girl and has made it a long way. Now, at 6.5 years old, Captain’s knees are facing a new challenge: torn CCL (ACL equivalent in humans). In order for the CCL surgery to be effective, the kneecap dislocation also needs to be treated. Both knees will require both operations.

A surgery like this has been estimated by 2 surgeons to cost within $8,000 to $10,000. There is no rush for the operation, but Captain is in pain when she stands, especially when walking on slippery floors. I want nothing more than to make the second half of Captain’s life as pain-free as I possibly can, and I can’t do that without help.
Your support means everything to us. Any donation will go a long way, and if you are unable to make a donation, Captain and I would appreciate it if you could share this campaign with your friends and family or spread it on social media. Together, we can fund a pain-free future for Captain!
