Help Zuzu Attend Washington D.C.

Hi! My name is Zuzu Hill and I'm a sophomore at Emerson Jr-Sr High School in Emerson, NJ.

Recently, I was selected as one of only 300 students across the globe to attend the Washington Journalism and Media Conference from July 17-22, 2022. In addition, I am one of the only students from my school that would be attending, and one of only a few in the entire state of New Jersey. During the 6-day conference, I'll meet well-known leaders in the field and have a chance to speak with them in-person. I'll also be able to listen to journalists, photojournalists, media correspondents, and other notable people do presentations, engage in hands-on activities and learn more about media and journalism, all part of this once-in-a-lifetime experience. On top of that, I'll receive one full college credit! We'll also get to travel around the Washington, D.C. area, meet congresspeople and visit the nation's capitol, including the world-famous Smithsonian museum.

This opportunity will further my education and would be an AMAZING experience! Not only would it be a chance for me to experience college life (and receive college credit), but I would also be able to further explore my interests in writing and journalism/politics.

***The tuition costs $2300, which covers the cost of admission to the conference, all meals (except for one day), housing, and all of the daily activities of the trip mentioned above. As far as my other expenses, all of the students are required to document their experiences as journalists, but I don't have a laptop computer (which is what they recommend). I also would have to buy clothing for professional attire, and of course, I'd have to pay for my airfare to get from New Jersey to D.C.
