Hello! I'm Zuriel Phillips, a fourth-year Social Work student at Michigan State University. I'm excited to share that I will be traveling to Ghana, Africa, for a study abroad program focused on childhood development within an African context.
As a passionate Social Work student, I eagerly pursued this opportunity to prepare myself for advocating for children and vulnerable populations around the world . Culture and family significantly influence our emotional, physical, spiritual, and cognitive growth throughout childhood and into adulthood. My aim for this study abroad experience is to gain hands-on insights into the lives of vulnerable families and children, allowing me to better understand the world and effectively support individuals as they develop, heal, and thrive while also continuing to learn how to love on a deeper level.
I kindly ask for your assistance in helping me to go to Ghana. Unfortunately, as a low-income student, most of my earnings are directed toward essential expenses which makes it difficult to prepare for this trip and have extra money for anything needed in Ghana. Your support would mean a great deal to me!
