Hi, we’re Leo Glam and Juniper Fonseca, and we’re asking for help for our cat Zuko.

Zuko recently started struggling to urinate, so we took him to the vet right away to make sure he wasn’t blocked. Thankfully, they confirmed he was not blocked, but after running tests, they found crystals in his urine and sent us home with several new medications while they continue analyzing the sample.

They also found bilirubin in his urine, which is very concerning in cats and may point to a serious underlying health issue. Right now, the vet suspects it could be related to his liver, possibly connected to the many medications he has needed throughout his life. He now needs another round of urgent testing, including bloodwork and imaging like x-rays or an ultrasound, followed by whatever treatment, procedures, and medication come next.

We already paid $800 for his emergency visit and initial testing, which we could barely afford. Today, we were told the next round of tests will cost about $900 more, and after that, we may be facing another $1,500 or more in treatment and ongoing care.

This has been especially hard because Zuko has had serious health issues for a long time, and we have already spent thousands trying to take care of him. He suffers from extremely severe allergies that can get so bad he scratches and bleeds from his face. On top of that, he appears to have some kind of blood disorder that makes it easier for him to get hurt and harder for his body to handle these ongoing issues. We have done everything we can for him every step of the way, but the costs have become overwhelming.

Zuko is deeply loved and a huge part of our family. We are asking for help so we can keep moving forward with the tests and treatment he needs without delaying care because of cost.
