Help Zubaida get her smile back

Hello!

My name is Zubaida, and I’m a recent college grad and freelance poet. Unfortunately, as a first-generation immigrant and a black woman, I have struggled for years to find adequate healthcare. As a result, I have been diagnosed with Periodontal disease. P.D. is a progressive disease that can lead to other health issues (cancer, immune disorders, bronchitis, pneumonia, etc.). Like most folks, I was shocked, scared, and embarrassed when I heard the news.

I was even more shocked to learn that, even with insurance, my only hope of living an everyday life with this disease is behind a paywall! To recover from what P.D. has done to my smile and body, I will need surgery and restorative treatment, totaling around $5,000. Any amount of support you can offer would be greatly appreciated.
