Zorro is our beloved cat, and he was recently diagnosed with diabetes. Managing feline diabetes is a full-time commitment—twice-daily insulin shots, constant blood glucose monitoring, special low-carb food (none of which he will eat so far, so we’re trying a million different brands), and frequent vet visits to keep his levels stable. It is a labor of love, but the costs have become overwhelming.

Right now, we are managing insulin and syringes every month, a blood glucose monitor and test strips for daily monitoring at home, vet visits for checkups, dose adjustments, and unexpected urgent care, nausea medication to help Zorro stay comfortable, and special prescription-friendly food to help keep his levels stable. On top of Zorro’s care, we have two other senior fur babies—Stinkerbelle (aka StinkyB) and The Cupcake—who also need care and attention. When Ron and I travel to New York over Memorial Day, we will need to board Zorro somewhere experienced with diabetic cats while also paying for a pet sitter at home for Stinkerbelle and The Cupcake. The costs are stacking up faster than we can manage.

We are doing everything we can for our babies, but we are exhausted and stretched to our limit. Any contribution—no matter how small—means the world to us and to Zorro.
