UPDATE 08/02: Hello, I'm Zora (pronouns: she/her, they/them, or fae/faem) and I’m a nonbinary trans fem who is in the process of separating from my partner and in need of financial help to make that work while supporting my queer and disabled family. I was going to get bottom surgery and still hope to once things stabilize but it's currently moved out of my reach and financial help would do a lot to alleviate the stress I'm under during this process so that I can get to stable faster.

I'll try to post a cost breakdown once I know that information for myself and update the goals accordingly, for now I'm trying to ensure I'm equipped for the change of living situation happening this month. Hey! I’m Zora (pronouns: she/her, they/them, or fae/faem) and I’m a nonbinary trans fem who’s looking to get bottom surgery later this year. I need some help to make it happen though so that I can continue supporting my family while I recover.

In order to comfortably make all my bills during recovery I need to save up funds to cover the difference between my current pay and my reduced pay during medical leave, more precisely:

I make $1,918.21 per check (every two weeks)

I will earn only 60% of that on medical leave: $1,150.92

The difference of those, $767.29, multiplied by the 7 checks I expect to miss if I recover normally, is $5,371.03

I have rounded this up to $6,000 in order to cover transaction fees, issues during recovery that delay my return or introduce additional unforeseen expenses, and to generally give a little more room to breathe.

UPDATE 04/26: My partner got a promotion which has given us some extra finances to work with, the increase over 7 checks will help cover around $3,000 extra - so I've reduced the goal to $3,000

Presently I am scheduled for a vaginoplasty in August, if I do not get something close to this amount early enough I will be forced to make the decision to reschedule my surgery, which between waiting lists and the ongoing attacks on transition related care in this country would leave my timeline and ability to receive this care in question.

Though in the event I have to cancel for any reason the funds received through this fundraiser will remain untouched and preserved for my medical transition once I am able to go through with it.

UPDATE 04/26: We hit $1,000 before May 1st, that was my minimum viability threshold - the surgery is happening! Help is still needed to ensure the safety of all involved though, please help us to hit our full goal!

Originally this assistance was not anticipated to be required but within the last month of 2022 our household expanded to contain, including myself, four queer folks of varying disability who survive, in large part, off of my income and will struggle to meet our needs if 40% of my income is lost for three to four months.

If I receive funding in excess of my goal I will spend it with the following priority:

1. Addressing any unforeseen expenses or complications in my procedure.

2. Assisting my trans family with their transition goals and related care.

3. Anything in excess of the above two items will be donated to other trans crowdfunds.

Please help me and my family out if you’re able to! I’ve long disdained what I’ve had between my legs and I hope that with your help I’ll be able to gain a little more peace with myself without compromising the safety of my family.
