Help Zonia's Journey Through Recovery

Donation protected
Dear friends and community, some news from our dear Zonia:

A warm hello from my path to recovery. ❤️‍

Taking a moment here to thank everyone once again for their unwavering love and support.

These past few months have been quite a journey in recovery. Not only in regards to treatment but also, and importantly ~ my relationship to self care and my willingness to be held by community and receive help during one of the most vulnerable times in my life ~ something that in the past has not come easy to me.

Whether you have donated to this campaign, sent me an uplifting message, called to say hello, treated me to a meal, accompanied me to treatment and/or my many appointments, taken me for a walk, gifted me a kitten, etc etc etc. ~ and the list goes on ~ it is not lost on me and reminds me that true healing is not just physical, but emotional and spiritual. I am deeply appreciative of every single one of you.

With 8 rounds of the most intense chemo, a mastectomy, and tons of complementary and alternative therapeutic treatments I am recovering well and there is currently “no evidence of disease”! None of this would have been possible without your help, TRULY! By contributing to this campaign, you have allowed me to keep the primary focus on my health and recovery and not worry about bills.

My treatment however, continues to be ongoing. This second phase includes another minor surgery in December as well as hormone suppressant therapy for the next 5 years.

Today, I stand in gratitude and am humbly asking to please contribute what you can to this campaign. Being unable to work has created quite a financial burden and with your continued generosity and support, all funds will offset the cost of continued treatment and expenses already incurred as I prepare my body to get back to work in the new year. If you cannot donate, please share the link, every act of kindness, goes a long way.

Thank you all so much again, I love you all.

In late March our dear friend and kindergarten teacher Zonia Pelensky was diagnosed with breast cancer and has begun a course of treatment for the next sixteen weeks. As parents with children in Zonia's class, we are looking to help her with her medical bills. We estimate that uncovered expenses will reach $50,000, our fundraising goal.

Zonia is both a dedicated teacher and a wonderful person. She has long supported our school, our children, and her own family. We feel it is our turn to support her. She's on a leave of absence from teaching and is facing real financial hardship. Please consider contributing to this fund to support her healing and recovery journey. Thank you.
