This is Zombie. She is my best friend. We rescued her from abandonment in Jacksonville 4 years ago and saved her life. She has made it worth it every day since. She loves to cuddle under blankets, chew bones with her butt in the air, and carry a log around the yard. Her big pittie smile lights up the room. She protects her mama everywhere she walks in the house and even waits outside of closed doors for her to make sure she’s safe.

In the middle of the night Wednesday/early Thursday, we discovered that she has a life-threatening bacterial infection in her uterus called Pyometra. We rushed her to an emergency vet 35 minutes away and were told that treatment involves antibiotics, fluids, bloodwork, and surgery to remove the uterus and the infection along with it. The surgery alone was quoted at $5000-$7500 with additional costs.
