I’m reaching out because someone very close to me is facing a series of unimaginable challenges. Zoli (24) is currently trying to survive in the middle of a war and total regional collapse. The reality he is dealing with every day is truly heavy and overwhelming.
Recently, the conflict forced his workplace to shut down overnight. Because of the chaos and the failing banking system, he was never paid for his final month of work. With the current internet shutdowns and economic collapse, finding any type of work has become almost impossible. In a place where the average salary is around €3 a day, losing that safety net while the world is falling apart has put him in an incredibly difficult position. He has been left with nothing.
A Personal Crisis on Top of a National One
On top of the war, Zoli has finally found the courage to leave an abusive home environment. Before he was able to leave on his own, he is getting kicked out. He has found a safe place to stay, but the room is completely empty. He is starting from zero; he has no bed to sleep on, no stove to cook a meal, and he is struggling to afford the treatment he needs for his chronic heart and back issues.
Determined to Build a Better Future
Zoli is a truly kind and talented person, and despite everything he’s been through, he remains incredibly determined. Because of his health, he can’t do heavy labor, but he is ready and eager to work to support himself.
So our goal is €2,000 to give him a "bridge" to independence:
- Daily Necessities: Food and essential medical treatment for his immediate survival.
- A Functional Home: Basic necessities such as a bed, a basic stove, a rug, a lock, heavy curtains for privacy and protection so he can live safely.
- A Fresh Start: A safety fund and a small motorbike. During this period of instability, this is his only reliable path to a job. It will allow him to do delivery work and support himself long-term so he can be fully self-sufficient.
Please know that any small amount, no matter how little it seems to us, makes a huge difference for him and his daily survival.
I am organising this from a supported country and will personally handle the transfer of all funds raised. All donations are securely withdrawn from GoFundMe into our bank account. From there, we personally arrange a secure, independent digital remittance transfer directly to Zoli on a weekly basis. This ensure the money reaches him safely and is immediately available to him for his immediate survival.
Zoli is one of the most resilient people I know. He never wanted to have to resort to asking for help, but he is looking for the tools he needs to stand on his own two feet again.
