On Monday, November 26 Zoie and Josh came down to Calgary to get an ultrasound. During the appointment they received some devastating news their sweet little boy has many complications. They then were informed Zoie's cervix was completely dilated meaning she could go into labour at any moment. Being just over 20 weeks their sweet boy of born now wouldn’t be able to survive outside the womb. They were then sent to foothills hospital where they discussed surgery that would be very risky to both Zoie and the baby. They decided the best option would be to take one day at a time and take medication which could potentially prolong the pregnancy. On Tuesday night Zoie's water broke and she lost a lot of amniotic fluid. They rushed to the hospital. They put Zoie on antibiotics to try and keep the baby inside and healthy.
Zoie is currently home and on bedrest. The plan going forward is to take her antibiotics and pray for a miracle. The hospital in Calgary has given the family hope that at 23 weeks they will be able to bring baby into the world safely.
Many of you have asked how you can help this beautiful family during this time. Zoie and Josh currently live in Lacombe which is a couple hours north of Calgary. Josh will still have to work in order to support his family; while Zoie and baby recover in the hospital in Calgary, which will take at a minimum 2 months. We would be very grateful to raise some money to help alleviate the burden off Josh so he can take some time off to be with his family and help with the expense of traveling to and from Calgary.
Thank you to all who are sending their prayers and love. They have been felt.
