Help Zohar Heal and Rebuild His Life
Donation protected
On March 10th, our dear friend Zohar was found by his roommate in a state no one should ever experience — badly injured, bleeding, missing teeth, with a facial fracture, facial lacerations, deep cuts on his hands and knees, and extensive bruising to his chest. He was rushed by ambulance as a trauma alert to Zuckerberg San Francisco General, where he remained in the ICU for over a month.
During his stay, Zohar fought for his life. He was intubated and required a central line to support his blood pressure. He developed a severe Klebsiella pneumonia — a dangerous infection with a mortality rate of over 50%. He also suffered blood clots in both lungs, underwent surgery to repair his facial fracture, and needed plastic surgery to close the facial wounds. He required a tracheostomy to help him breathe.
Miraculously, Zohar woke up just a few days ago — and despite everything, he was recently discharged.
But the journey isn’t over.
Zohar now faces a long and difficult recovery. He’ll need ongoing physical and occupational therapy. He still has to pay rent. He’s determined to finish school — with just one month left — but the costs are overwhelming.
To make matters more difficult, his dental injuries — including the loss of several teeth — are not covered by medical insurance, and will require extensive out-of-pocket procedures to repair.
We’re asking for your help to make his recovery possible. Every donation will go directly toward:
• Medical and dental expenses not covered by insurance
• Rent and basic living costs during recovery
• Physical and occupational therapy
• School-related expenses so he can graduate
Zohar has shown incredible strength and resilience. Now, let’s show him he’s not alone. Any amount — big or small — makes a difference.
Thank you for your love and support.
