On September 7, 2024, our family welcomed my beautiful niece, Zoey Carter, arriving two months early of her due date. One week after her delivery, Zoey was flown to Oakland Children’s Hospital, where she has resided since in the NICU. Zoey has a rare genetic disorder called myotonic muscular dystrophy. Due to being born premature and her genetic disorder, Zoey has had a number of health complications with her lungs, heart, and muscles. We are a family of faith and believe God has been by her side and will continue to make her stronger each day. She’s a MIRACLE!

I’ve created this GoFundMe to help her parents with the expenses that have come from traveling back and forth from Stockton to Oakland. They’ve depleted their savings and, unfortunately, most recently their family vehicle has stopped working. My hope is that we can assist with obtaining a family van, being that when Zoey is home, she may have medical equipment and possibly a wheelchair in the future. At this time, her parents have no vehicle to go visit their daughter as often as they are used to, and as you can imagine, this is something that has caused extreme stress and heartache for them both. I understand times are hard for a lot of people. We greatly appreciate any monetary donation. Also, please continue to lift Zoey up in prayer.
