Hi, I’m the grandmother of Zoey Skoski. She is a 13-year-old with chronic myeloid leukemia. It is a rare form of leukemia for a child. She was diagnosed with this disease when she was 4 years old and has been battling it every day since. She is a warrior!

The reason I am reaching out now for the first time is Zoey has been in the hospital for a week now. At first, her kidneys were not working properly and she had fluid on her lungs. The doctors admitted her, got her kidneys working better, but they had to drain her lungs. Over the weekend, she had trouble breathing and her lung collapsed. She went back into surgery, had chest tubes inserted to reinflate one lung and drain fluid off the other lung.

She is resting now and in pain, but like I’ve said before, she is a warrior. The only reason we are asking for any donations is Zoey's mom, Ashley, is a single mom with 2 other children. She has been unable to work while in the hospital with Zoey. She is a personal care assistant and works to support herself and the kids. School will be starting soon. Bills will be adding up. Who knows how long she is going to be out of work, so if you find it in your heart that you can help this family, it would be greatly appreciated.
