Help Zoey Stay with Her Owner
Donation protected
On Thursday July 11, my mom accidentally left a door open and Zoey slipped out. She got into a scuffle with a neighbor's pit. No one was hurt, but when the condo association got wind of it we were told we had 48 hours to remove Zoey from the premises permanently. Zoey and I slept in my car on Sunday night. I was able to afford a few days at the Motel 6, hoping that would be enough time to get Zoey in to her usual boarding kennel. However, they're busy through the weekend so the absolute earliest I can get her in is Monday the 22nd, six days from now as I write this. The middle of July isn't a great time to start living in your car in Wisconsin, and the health problems that keep me from working also make me very sensitive to heat. As you can imagine, I am dreading the next six days.
Those of you who know me know that Zoey is my entire life. I refuse to get rid of my dog because of someone else's mistake. I don't know what the solution will ultimately be or long it will take to get there, but Zoey stays with me. No matter what.
I started this GoFundMe hoping to raise some money for boarding and hotels as I look for a longer-term solution like fostering. I am disabled (but denied for benefits twice) and am living off of student loans as I try to finish my associates and eventually my bachelor's at UW Madison. Zoey's usual boarding kennel is $32/day. A night at a pet-friendly motel in my area is about $70/night. I'm hoping to minimize the number of days we'll have to sleep in my car until I can get her into boarding, so currently any funds received will go towards a motel room until boarding is available.
