Tonight has been heartbreaking for our family. We have two beloved shih tzus who are truly a part of our home. While our younger dog has had the occasional puppy tussle with Zoey, our sweet 11 year old, they’ve always managed to coexist. But tonight, something went terribly wrong.

In an unexpected and frightening moment, our younger dog attacked Zoey, causing a severe injury to her eye. We rushed her to the emergency vet, where we learned that the damage is significant and that Zoey will need her eye removed to live comfortably and without pain. The estimated cost is several thousand dollars. Unfortunately, this an amount we simply cannot cover on our own right now.

We are doing everything in our power to care for Zoey and keep her comfortable, but we need help to get her the surgery she urgently needs. Any contribution, no matter the size, would mean the world to us and would directly support Zoey’s treatment.

We are also planning to consult with a certified behaviorist for our younger dog to ensure something like this never happens again. Our dogs are our family, and we are committed to their safety and well-being.
