On December 29th, our dear friend and fellow cyclist Zoe Keller had a terrible cycling accident during a team training ride in Topanga Canyon. Zoe sustained multiple major injuries including a massive head injury and a broken arm, as she lay unconscious on the side on the road. We all feared the worst.
After spending six days, unresponsive in ICU at UCLA Medical Center, Zoe finally cracked a wry smile and slowly began speaking again. Those who know Zoe know she is a fighter--as fierce as they come. She’s been clawing her way back a day at a time, determined to be back on the saddle, pedaling forward without letting this set her back on her journey.
Zoe is a beacon of light on our cycling team--her kindness, fearlessness and spirited nature inspire us all to be better humans. We know how much cycling means to Zoe. It signifies transformation and freedom. And we want to help Zoe get back in her saddle as soon as possible.
Please read below for just a bit of her story and if you find it in your hearts to contribute, donations will go to support her ongoing recovery and her goal of getting back into training, providing her the means to replace her broken bike, helmet and to help pay medical bills incurred from her time in the ICU and rehabilitation.
Our initial goal is $3,000 but Zoe could really use as much support as possible. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

An update that I really don’t want to post – but it is, my bike… It’s DONE
I took a literal beating during my accident and my bike did too, it looked fine at a glance but it’s not. (I keep walking away from the computer as I type this out)
After I got home from the Hospital I noticed stress in my right hand and some in my left hand I’m sure that the broken arm was masking the pain/stress I am sure. (I do not remember anything that happened). I physically went down on my left side - broken arm and head massive head injury. It looks like my bike bounced to the right after my fall, not sure if I did too? My brakes on my handlebars went INTO the carbon fiber handlebar/stem, my right handlebar wrapped around and *slammed* into my frame down tube which created a nice size dent (possible fracture) and my front wheel is very wonky/bent.
Being a cyclist *I can NOT ride this bike*, I can not…. The frame could have a crack or fracture that would break all of a sudden. I ride distance, I ride strong, I ride aware/defensive and I ride SAFE. This is making me very very sad….. I built this bike from the frame up with a discount I got working at Palm Springs Cyclery – I took A LOT of shit to build this bike but it was built just the way I wanted and there was only one like it in the world () I took it on vacation with me, It lived in Belgium with me for 5 years where we explored the Flemish & French countryside as well as other countries. I rode this bike on my EPIC solo ride in the summer of 2017 from San Luis Obispo to San Diego completely SOLO and I was training on it for the #ALC2019 ride from San Francisco to LA then I was going to continue on to San Diego on it
*I am a Cyclist* pure, 100% and I have to/MUST purchase another bike….. I absolutely *need* to ride. I am trying to find another bike that fits this girl who coined herself on her journey last year #FindingZoey . I will set aside most everything financially.
