My name is Yazmin and I’m reaching out on behalf of my brave and beautiful aunty Zoe Jackson.

For over a year, Zoe has been battling debilitating pain, fatigue and heavy bleeding caused by a complex condition known as severe menorrhagia, linked to uterine fibroids and tumours and chronic gynecological complications. Despite trying every medical avenue to preserve her fertility and manage symptoms — including hormone treatments and an IUD that unfortunately failed — her condition has only worsened, significantly impacting her quality of life.

Zoe is now scheduled to undergo a major robotic-assisted hysterectomy with bilateral salpingectomy before the years end. This highly specialised surgery is necessary not only to end her daily suffering, but to prevent further complications involving her kidneys, bladder and pelvic organs. The surgery will also include cystoscopy and ureteric stenting due to the complexity of the procedure.

But here’s the problem:

Despite having private health insurance, Zoe faces no-gap coverage limitations, and the full financial burden of the surgery — including hospital, surgical, anaesthetic, and equipment fees — must be paid out-of-pocket. The total cost is estimated to be between $18,000 and $25,000, with payment required upfront.
