My cat Zoe is less than 5 years old. She’s always been healthy, playful, and full of life. But yesterday, something terrifying happened, twice in one day, she suddenly lost control of her limbs, collapsed, and covered her head with her paws, something she’s never done before. It looked like a numbness or paralysis, and I had no choice but to rush her to the emergency vet immediately.

Zoe has been given a preliminary diagnosis: possible blood clots or a heart disease. The exact diagnosis will only be confirmed after seeing a cardiologist. Whatever the outcome, she will likely need ongoing treatment.

Last night Zoe was in the oxygen chamber at the ER and was admitted overnight at MedVet in Chicago for monitoring. She has now been discharged from the ER, and I will soon take her to see a cardiologist for further examination. She is at home now, very weak, restless, and not acting like herself. Every minute counts, and every dollar is crucial.

We need to raise at least $3,000 to save her life:

• Cardiologist consultation at MedVet from: $1,200

• Follow-up with primary care vet, radiology and medications: $600

I love Zoe more than words can express, but I am currently unable to cover these costs on my own. I need to raise at least $3,000 to save her life — this is the minimum needed. The exact total may be higher, depending on what the cardiologist recommends and any follow-up care Zoe may require.
