Help Zoë Get Life-Changing Surgery
Donation protected
Dear Friends, Family, and Kind Strangers,
I’m reaching out to you with a heavy heart to ask for your support in funding a life-changing surgery for my 26-year-old daughter, Zoë. For almost two years now, she has been living in excruciating pain, unable to fully enjoy life, work, or even sit comfortably.
At the peak of her health and success, Zoë was a competitive athlete, an Honors student in Bio-Engineering at McGill University. She received the McGill University Special Student-Athlete Honor Roll Award for academic standing as a Bio-Engineering student and member of the championship varsity synchronized swimming team. She has always dedicated her time and energy to helping others as a lifeguard from the age of 15, as a coach for synchronized swimming, and after graduating, as a biomedical professional working with innovative surgical robots designed to improve the lives of patients in need of hip, knee, and shoulder replacements.
In a cruel twist of fate, she suddenly developed debilitating back pain. Despite seeking care from numerous doctors and specialists, it was eventually determined, that she needs a double spinal disc replacement. The surgery will need to be performed by a spinal specialist outside of the country, and the total cost is $85,000.
For the past two years, Zoë has been 90% incapacitated. She works from home but cannot sit for more than a few minutes at a time. She manages her work in a standing or laying down position, all while battling severe pain and relying on strong painkillers to get through each day.
As a single mother, I am doing everything I can to support my daughter through this, but the cost of this life-changing surgery is far beyond my ability to cover. That’s where you come in.
We are asking for your help to raise $85,000 so Zoë can receive the surgery she desperately needs to regain her life. This surgery will allow her to live pain-free, get back to the work she loves, and start enjoying the simple joys of life once again.
Any contribution, no matter the size, will make a huge difference. If you can’t donate, please consider sharing this campaign with your network. Your kindness and support mean the world to us.
Thank you for reading, for caring, and for helping us give Zoë the chance to reclaim her future.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Dina
