Help Zoe Beat Leukemia

Donation protected
“She was just sick like any other time”. These are the words that play in my head over and over. Our daughter Zoe had a fever, cough, and congestion on a Sunday. She started complaining about her ear hurting so I planned on taking her into the doctor the next day. Monday morning came and a rash had appeared overnight on her neck; a cluster of tiny red flat dots. I took her in and the doctor had concerns so she ordered blood work and we went in the next day. I got a call from the doctor Wednesday morning to go to the ER for more testing. At this point my heart dropped and I instantly knew something was wrong. After hours of being in the ER, an Oncologist broke the news and our world turned upside down. She has Leukemia.Zoe was diagnosed with High Risk Type B, Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia on November 22, 2019. From November 20th to the 28th she has remained in the hospital and has already had a bone marrow biopsy, lumbar punctures, her port put in, several blood draws, started chemo, etc. She has been through so much in those days and it is only the beginning. She is considered high risk for relapse because of the amount of white blood cells she started with and even higher risk with a genetic mutation called CRLF2. Her treatments will continue over the next two years or so and will hopefully be cured for the rest of her life, but there is no guarantee. We are reaching out to help with the substantial and overwhelming costs of having a child with Leukemia. Although we have medical insurance that will help pay for a lot of these costs, there is still so much that will financially break us. We have already met our deductable and out of pocket max and there will be additional expensive prescriptions and potential non-covered expenses. There is a definite chance that one of us will have to compromise our work to stay home with her full time since her immune system will be low while receiving treatment; we can’t risk her getting sick. There is a possibility that she will also need to be homeschooled. This all will put a financial hardship on even being able to pay our regular bills like our mortgage, utilities, transportation, etc.Every dollar counts and even if you are unable to donate, please take a moment to share this and keep Zoe in your thoughts and prayers. She needs all the love and support that she can get to kick Leukemia’s butt. We thank you for all of your support.
