Zoe Lopez is an incredibly hardworking and talented student who has just been accepted to study biological chemistry at Stevens Institute of Technology. Thanks to her outstanding academic achievements—including a 4.0 GPA, five AP classes, and graduating with honors—Zoe has earned significant scholarship support, but she is still facing a tough challenge. Her family is unable to support her college journey, and as a 17-year-old, she’s limited in how much she can work. With her parents not present, she can’t access student loans, leaving her with a gap she can’t fill on her own.
I’ve known Zoe since our sophomore year of high school, and she’s been my best friend for four years. She’s always been warm, friendly, and determined, excelling in varsity sports like rowing, tennis, and bowling, and staying active in the honor society. Even after I graduated a year before her, Zoe kept in touch, always seeking advice and pushing herself to do better. We’ve shared so many moments—walking, running, and working together. I truly feel like an older sister to her, and I’ve seen firsthand how hard she’s worked for every opportunity.
Now, Zoe needs help to cover her remaining tuition and buy books before the August 5 deadline. She’s doing everything she can, even working with me over the summer, but it’s not enough. Supporting Zoe means giving her the chance to pursue her dreams and continue making a difference. Every contribution will help her get one step closer to her future.
